01Who we are
This website, www.jameswisit.com, is run by James Wisit Studio, the studio of Bangkok-based artist Wisit Techasirikosol (James Wisit). In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean James Wisit Studio.
We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website. You can reach us about anything in this policy at Visitorte@gmail.com.
02The short version
- You can browse the whole site without giving us your name or email address.
- We only receive personal details that you choose to send us: a message through the contact form or chat, or your email address when you subscribe to the newsletter.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they view.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
03Contact form and chat
When you send us a message through the contact form on the home page or the chat on an exhibition page, we receive:
- your name and email address;
- the subject and the text of your message (for chat messages, also the address of the page you were viewing);
- the date and time it was sent and your IP address, which help us spot spam and misuse.
This information is sent to us by email so that we can read and reply to your message. It is not stored in the website’s database. Your message stays in our mailbox for as long as we need it to answer you and to keep a record of our conversation, for example about an artwork you asked about.
04Newsletter
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address together with the date you subscribed, your IP address and your browser’s user agent (a short description of your browser and device). We keep the IP address and user agent as a record of the sign-up and to help prevent abuse.
We use your email address only to send you news about exhibitions, new artworks and the studio. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and one click stops all further emails.
When you unsubscribe, your address is marked as unsubscribed and no more newsletters are sent to it. We keep that record so that we can honour your choice. If you would like it deleted completely, email us and we will remove it.
05Google Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics, a service from Google, to understand how the site is used: for example, how many people visit, which pages and exhibitions are viewed most, how visitors find the site, and roughly which country and type of device they use. This helps us decide what to show and improve.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_…) that let it recognise repeat visits. These cookies can last up to two years. Google processes this information on our behalf under Google’s Privacy Policy.
The website itself does not set any other cookies for visitors. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works normally without them.
06Other services the site uses
To show some parts of the site, your browser connects directly to other companies, which can see your IP address when it does:
- Google Fonts, which supplies the typeface used on the site;
- Google Analytics, described above;
- Facebook, Instagram and LINE, only if you click our links to them. Once you are on those services, their own privacy policies apply.
Our website and email are run by our hosting provider, which stores the website’s data and handles our email on our behalf.
07Who we share your information with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers named in this policy, so that they can run the website, email and analytics for us, or where the law requires us to.
08How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe. The website passes your messages to our mail server over an encrypted connection, and only the studio can access the website’s administration area and subscriber list. No website can be completely secure, but we work to protect the information you share with us.
09Your rights
Under Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information, or ask us to stop using it;
- object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from the newsletter;
- complain to Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Committee if you think we have mishandled your information.
To use any of these rights, email us at Visitorte@gmail.com. We will reply within 30 days.
10Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If we make important changes, we will make them clear on this page.
